Our Team

Behind every pitstop, overtake and podium is a team of experts working tirelessly. Legacy Outlaws is a team before anything else.

The Boss

TEAM OWNER

Rarely seen. Always felt.

The force behind Legacy Outlaws remains deliberately unseen, guiding the team from the shadows with strategic precision and an uncompromising focus on victory. To some, he’s a myth - a name whispered in paddocks and pitlanes - yet every decision, every car, every triumph bears his unmistakable imprint.

He is drawn to machines with history written into the bodywork - race cars that have lived, fought, and earned their scars. For him, the past isn’t nostalgia; it’s lineage. Legacy isn’t just a word stitched into the team’s name - it’s the foundation upon which everything stands.

His approach is methodical, almost surgical. Every move calculated, every advantage extracted. There are no accidents here, no luck, no superstition. Just preparation, precision, and the relentless pursuit of results.

Trophies matter, not for their shine but for what they prove. Winning is not a celebration - it’s confirmation.

He is the man behind the mission - the unseen architect of speed and legacy - his silence speaks louder than any roar.

Rob Bicknell

CHIEF ENGINEER

Rob’s passion for motorsport began early. He started racing karts in 1975 and continued competing until 1986. In 1987 he built his own kit car and went on to race against Martin Short. By 1993, Rob had designed and built the first of three cars himself - marking the start of a long and dedicated career in engineering and racing.

When he’s not focused on improving the car, Rob enjoys playing the guitar and spending time with the team during race weekends, especially the evening conversations where ideas for making the car even better start to take shape.

His favourite circuits are Spa and Imola, both for their fast, flowing layouts that reward precision and engineering excellence.

If he could choose any car to own, it would be a silver Aston Martin DB5 - the same iconic model he had as a toy when he was a child.

Chris Fox

CHIEF ENGINEER

Chris has been immersed in motorsport since the 1970s, when he first started helping a friend run a Mini in racing. At one point he nearly took a very different path - planning to buy a speedboat with a friend and travel around Europe teaching people to water ski (despite neither of them actually knowing how). A trip to the British Grand Prix qualifying changed everything. Inspired by the experience, they bought a Formula Ford 1600 instead, and Chris has been involved in racing ever since.

Away from the circuit, Chris has a passion for flying and owns a light aircraft powered by a rare Porsche engine.

Some of his favourite circuits include Spa, Imola, Dijon and Le Mans, each offering their own unique character and challenge.

For Chris, the best part of a race weekend is simple: winning. And the most intense moments always come in the final laps, when everything is on the line.

His dream car is the iconic Ferrari 288 GTO, a machine made famous in the 1980s when many Formula 1 drivers owned one.

Gill Ward

TEAM MANAGER

Gill’s passion for motorsport began early, with races always on TV at home. She knew she wanted to be involved, and that became real when she started at Silverstone and met Chris. Since then everything fell into place and she’s barely missed a race. As Team Manager, Gill takes pride in her people. The most satisfying part of the job is seeing the team unite and deliver results; the dedication and teamwork shown across a race weekend make the role rewarding.

She thrives on adrenaline both at the circuit and away from it. Gill enjoys motorsport, wing walking and bungee jumping, always seeking the next thrill.

Her favourite circuit is Spa, particularly during the famous Six Hours, where the atmosphere is electric and the history of the track is felt everywhere. One of her most intense race moments came during the final 30 minutes of the Spa Six Hours, when Chris was running a lap ahead but didn’t realise and continued pushing hard in battle. It made for a nail-biting finish, with everyone hoping the car would make it safely to the chequered flag. While her dream machine might not have four wheels, Gill’s choice is the Ducati Panigale V2S - a bike that perfectly matches her love of speed and adrenaline.

Chris Beck

TEAM MANAGER

Chris joined the world of motorsport in 1995 after offering to help produce some bodywork for a race car - and he’s been involved ever since.

A passionate supporter of Middlesbrough FC, Chris enjoys the energy and unpredictability that comes with race weekends, where anything can happen and excitement is never far away.

His favourite circuit is Spa, a track he loves despite its famously unpredictable weather.

For Chris, one of the most satisfying aspects of his job is seeing the car perform reliably—especially when the gearbox holds strong all the way to the chequered flag. Finishing a race, and even better winning it, makes all the hard work worthwhile.

One of his most intense race weekend moments came at Rockingham, when the car caught fire—an unforgettable experience that left a lasting impression.

If he could choose any car to own, his dream would be a Ford XR2, a classic that holds a special place in his heart.

Rob Adams

ENGINEER

Rob joined the team straight after leaving school when his grandparents’ neighbours, knowing he was looking for a job working with cars, introduced him to Fox Racing. What began as a two-week trial turned into a long-term career—17 years later, he’s still part of the team.

Away from the workshop, Rob enjoys football, golf, PlayStation, and spending time with his dogs and fish.

His favourite circuit is Spa, a track he loves for its rich motorsport history, challenging layout and stunning surroundings.

For Rob, the most satisfying part of the job is seeing all the hard work in the workshop pay off with strong results at the track.

One of his most intense race moments came during the T70 race at Estoril in 2025, when the team finished less than two seconds behind first place—despite carrying a 30-second penalty.

If he could choose any dream car, it would be the iconic 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500.

Mark Andrews

ENGINEER

Mark’s passion for motorsport began at an early age. His father raced a Ginetta and owned a Bugatti, so Mark grew up surrounded by cars—spending time both in the garage and at Prescott. He began competing himself at 17, hill climbing in a Triumph Spitfire, before going on to design and build his own single-seater and winning the South Eastern Sprint Championship. Mark continued racing until the age of 30, when he stepped away from driving after buying his first house.

Outside of racing, Mark has a strong interest in motorsport and space exploration.

His favourite circuit is Paul Ricard, thanks to its excellent facilities and usually great weather, although Spa remains a special track for him from his days as a driver.

For Mark, the most satisfying part of the job is working alongside good friends and achieving success together on track.

His dream cars include the Lola T70Bugatti Type 59, and Ferrari 333SP—three iconic machines that reflect his deep appreciation for racing history and engineering.

Rupert Vickers

ENGINEER

Rupert’s journey into motorsport began with his father, who first introduced him to racing. Starting out in karting, his interest quickly grew and developed into a career in the sport.

Outside of racing, Rupert enjoys farming, balancing life in the workshop with time spent outdoors.

His favourite circuit is Le Mans, a track he admires for its incredible history and significance in endurance racing.

For Rupert, the most satisfying part of the job is simple: winning. But just as important is the camaraderie with the team during race weekends, working together under pressure and sharing the experience together.

One of the most intense moments of his career came while working for Mercedes F1 during the dramatic Abu Dhabi 2021 race, when the late intervention by race director Michael Masi created one of the most talked-about finishes in Formula 1 history.

If he could own any car, Rupert’s dream choice would be the legendary Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing.

Brian Crawford

RACE TEAM SUPPORT

Brian plays an important role in supporting the team during race weekends, helping ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Outside of the paddock, Brian enjoys football and cricket, two sports that keep his competitive spirit alive away from motorsport.

His favourite circuit is Spa, a track he appreciates for its incredible setting and rich racing history. The famously unpredictable weather only adds to the excitement and tension of racing there.

For Brian, the most rewarding part of the job is being part of a close-knit team, where everyone works together to maximise performance while still enjoying the lighter moments and banter during quieter times.

What he loves most about a race weekend is the anticipation of what the team might achieve, with every event bringing the possibility of another great result.

His dream car is the legendary Lotus 79, one of the most iconic Formula 1 cars ever built.

Ceri Smith

RACE TEAM SUPPORT

Ceri has been involved in motorsport since he was 17, when he began marshalling alongside Mark Andrews. That early experience sparked a long-standing passion for racing that continues today.

By day, Ceri works selling banking systems, but much of his spare time is spent rebuilding and racing cars, combining his professional life with a lifelong enthusiasm for motorsport.

His favourite circuit is Paul Ricard, a track he enjoys for its excellent facilities and flowing layout.

For Ceri, one of the most satisfying moments of a race weekend is seeing the car cross the finish line, ideally taking the win or a class victory after all the effort that goes into preparing for the event.

One of the moments he loves most is early morning on qualifying day, when everything is prepared and ready, and the anticipation of the weekend ahead is at its peak.

Ceri’s dream car has always been the legendary Ford GT40, a car he’s admired ever since he was ten years old.
